·        Tomorrow is Brown Middle School’s Flower Power Social.  At this point, you know all the fun stuff we have lined up for you.  There’s an awesome DJ on the dance floor, basketball upstairs, video games, ping-pong, and food.  Rainy Day Games will also be joining us this social and bringing along some fun activities.  If you are a fan of Rainy Day Games, you do not want to miss out.  Tickets are on sale during lunch all week, so get yours today!

·        8^th graders who haven’t received picture packets yet, FYI they will be passed out during Monday’s homeroom. NO SOONER!

·        7^th graders- last chance to get in those PAW applications!! Please turn them in to Mrs. Clark by Friday and you can still have an opportunity to be a part of something great next year!!!

·        Due to a messy cafeteria, the snack bar and gym will be closed during 1st lunch.  The snack bar and vending machines will be closed during 2^nd lunch.

·        Do you have talent?  Do you dream of being on the X-Factor or Dancing With the Stars?  Do you want to be the next big thing like One Direction?  Well do we have a proposition for you.  Tryouts for Brown’s 2013 Talent Show are in just a few weeks.  Signups are outside of Mr. Corwin’s room, R10.  You must sign up by tomorrow.  Here are the ground rules:

-         Acts must be no more than 3 minutes in length

-         Background music must be the karaoke version or performed yourself

-         All songs, dancing, clothing, jokes, and other acts must be school appropriate

-         No fire will be allowed at this year’s talent show. 

-         If you have any questions, see Mr. Corwin or Mr. Striplin for details.

·        Today’s lunch special is country fried steak mashed potatoes with gravy, roasted veggies and a roll.

• Parents are asked to make telephone contact when a student is absent or needs to be excused for an appointment, etc.
• After school hours, an answering machine is available to take your messages.
• If possible, please call the day or night number before the student is absent, and include the reason for absence. If this is not possible, please call the morning of the absence so teachers can be notified.
