I hope this letter finds you feeling good about your child's 1st semester this school year. We love our Evergreen students and are enjoying assisting them as they navigate through their middle school years and into young adulthood. It is hard to believe that our 7th graders are a semester away from being 8th graders and that our current 8th graders are a semester away from beginning high school! (read more)

Daily Announcements for 2011-12

Talent Show Auditions: Students can sign up for the talent show auditions starting on Tuesday, February 14. Show off your talent and try out for the talent show!

Dance Fit: Dance Fit is a class that will get your heart pumping and your blood moving through aerobic dance. Then, it will stretch your muscles with relaxing yoga poses. Join us, Mrs. Nelson and Mrs. Tanedo, for a cardio and strength-enhancing workout beginning March 6. Sign up now—space is limited.

Battle of the Books: Practice rooms with questions are now open in Ms. Dawson's room during first lunch and in Mrs. Love's room and Mr. Knox's room during second lunch on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The battle competitions are in TWO WEEKS, so remember to start practicing!

SkateNight @ SkateWorld: On Monday, February 13 Skateworld is reserved for Evergreen students only from 6:30-8:00pm. Come and have some fun! There will be raffles, skating games and games for non-skaters too!!

Evergreen Science Bowl Team: Congratulations to the Evergreen Science Bowl team that placed 11th out of 68 teams at the Oregon/Southwest Washington regional Science Bowl! This is the highest finish in Evergreen team history. Special thank you to Ms. Dawson for her help in facilitating the Science Team!

Glencoe's Academic Planning Night: This event will be on Thursday, February 16 from 7:00-8:30pm at Glencoe High School (Glencoe's Auditorium). The purpose of this evening is to assist incoming and current students (and their parents) with forecasting for the 2012-13 school year. Incoming freshmen, current students and their parents will learn about graduation requirements, the forecasting process and will have an opportunity to talk to staff members including counselors. Athletic and activity information will also be available. We hope to see you there

Girls Gather for Computer Science: Attention girls! Pacific University in Forest Grove is sponsoring the 2nd annual "Girls Gather for Computer Science" summer camp. This is a 4-week summer day camp for current 7th & 8th grade girls. The camp will be run by female instructors including university faculty, local middle school teachers, and undergraduate computer science students. The camp includes hands-on learning activities, fun field trips, great food and the best part is it's 100% FREE. For more information or to pick up an application, please see Mrs. Grant or Ms. Haberman. Thirty girls from Oregon middle schools will be selected based on teacher recommendations and interest in science, technology, engineering and math. Applications are due Wednesday, February 15...the camp begins June 18.

Homework Zone : Applications for the 2nd session of Homework Zone are now available in the front office. Completed forms need to returned to the office. Space is limited so get your application turned in as soon as possible. The 2nd session will begin Tuesday, February 7th.
