Electronic Devices

Evergreen Middle School holds no responsibility for lost, damaged, or stolen electronic devices. These devices are distracting to the learning environment, and we STRONGLY encourage students to not bring these expensive items to school. However, if students do bring them please be aware of our policies:

We understand the need to stay in touch with your children, however, cell phones are only to be used after school in order to discuss after-school plans. Students should not be using their phones at their lockers or in classrooms. Phones should be OFF and AWAY during the Academic day. The Academic day begins at 8:35 a.m. when students are entering hallways to get ready for class and ends at 3:15 p.m. after the last class of the day. Parents should call the office if they need to reach their child during the school day; students should use office phones if they need to reach parents during the school day.

Students may listen to these on their way to school, but must remove them upon entering the building. These may not be used during the school day.

Cameras may be used for special occasions (field trips, class parties, etc.). Students may not use cameras for inappropriate photographs or in inappropriate locations (locker rooms, bathrooms, etc.)

Violations of these rules will result in discipline actions. Staff will confiscate these devices during the school day if students are using them and parents may be required to pick them up.

Dress Code

Inappropriate fashions include:

• Skirts or shorts that are too short
• Distracting clothing
• Hats (must be removed upon entering building)
• Bare midriffs
• Spaghetti straps
• Underwear showing
• T-shirts with inappropriate slogans
• Chains or spikes

Students wearing the above dress code violations will be asked to change or cover up. If necessary, parents may be asked to bring alternate clothing.

Bus Passes

Students must have a signed note that gives them permission to ride home on another bus. Students must bring that note to the main office before school or during lunch. Students coming in after school will not have this bus change approved.
